I totally meant to blog a bazillion different times this weekend, but never got around to it. Now it's wednesday, and i forgot half of what i wanted to yammer about.

one thing i wanted to mention pertained to my niece. it's awesome to feel like i'm needed again! she moved back in not too long ago, just for a hiatus until she finds her own place to live. one of the things she has to do, though, is send a letter to her dad saying that she isnt coming back to canada, and could he please send her shit back to tx. here's the problem... her dad is a dick. k has been putting off this letter for a while, but she called me on saturday (or was it sunday, i don't remember) and asked if i could help her. i just LURRRRRRVE it when she actually asks me for help. It's pretty awesome.

hmm... dealio number two was the crazy fucking hail storm we had on saturday! NUTSO! i've seen some crazy hail, but this shit was fucking insane. i found one hailstone that was the size of my palm. i have that awesome tin roof, so it sounded like i was in an air raid in germany circa 1941! LOUD! here's some pics:










Also, it turns out, my dog, kenzie, is a total wuss. she's a mama's dog, through and through, and she tries to crawl into my skin whenever a storm comes rolling through. apparently, if i'm not around, she has foudna new safe haven:



yes, all of you out in blogland... she's in the DRYER! only my dog would decide to CRAWL INTO THE DRYER when she gets scared. WHAT A FUCKING FRUITCAKE! she's always good for a laugh :)

Four years have passed.....

Hello again, all ye faithful blogland readers... Although, I am sure I have NO faithful blog readers any more. Four years, and WAAAY too much to fit into one tiny little blog has gone by. So long, in fact, that I FORGOT that I even HAD a blog! Someone recently reminded me, oh thank you very much.

So, new and newer first: I just got back from Las Vegas yesterday. Oh joy oh rapture! I lost a couple hundred bucks, then got REALLY sick, so I couldn't even win it back. Nothing like having the trots while on vacation...

I met up with my bf there. He lives on Manhattan, so we have to travel to see each other. Not that I mind, I LOVE to travel. One of these days, we will hopefully live closer to one another. OH YEAH, I should fill you in on the bf :) I'm all kinds of happy bunnies about this man... We met in Vegas about 6 months ago, and he's really cool. I'll tell you, I'm a biiiig fan. He's actually one of the nice ones, really hard to find. He's a professional geek, and thinks I'm the bees knees.

I just started a new job. I am a sign language interpreter, and have been mostly working in the community at large, but decided I needed something a little more reliable. I am still interpreting, but in a cube (YUCK!) I work for a Video Relay Service (VRS) and the technology is really amazing. Here's how it works: a deaf person video phone connected to a tv or computer, they call me through that video phone. I have one too, so I can see my clients on my screen and they can see me. I also have a computer based audio phone that I can call out from. So, I call my client's people (doctors, friends, family, the IRS, whoever....) they then talk to each other remotely using me as a conduit. Pretty cool, huh? But it's in a cube. Booooo. The people I work with are the cat's pajamas, so they really make it a pleasure to come to work every day. Oh, and there's also oodles of down time, so I can do fun things like catch up on blogging.

If you have anything you want me to post about, please let me know... I tend to ramble, so please give me a direction :)

all i can say is that i am a total shmuck. i am running far behind on keeping everyone updated in my life.

i am soooo sorry, all those in blogland... but i don't have enough time to write what i need to.

yep, I am truly sore now. my neighbor and I went for a 10 mile ride today. remind me again why I am doing this? my butt hurts.....

my new neighbor is cute! he moved in a couple of weeks ago, and being the good neighbor, I went over and introduced myself. later that evening, he came ove to sit with me on the front stoop to have a ciggie. we talked for a couple of hours that night. he's a pretty groovy guy. after our ride, we went to the draught house (a local pub) for free pizza night. (no, I didn't fall off the wagon...I just drank water and sprite. I'm a good girl :)) we talked for 2 1/2 hours tonight. hmmmm... will have to keep ya posted on that. vedy intedesting.

I'm passing out now, and it's only 10.......

hi, i'm an idiot!

so, i remmbred what i wanted to say yesterday, at about 3am today.

i was going to tell you about how cool my new car would have nbeen, if i was able to gt it..

i was looking at a volvo c70. it's fucking BEAUTIFUL... unfortunately, my credit blows, and thus cant get a car loan. oh well... a gal can dream, right?? so now i am looking for them on ebay. i found a couple in New York and close to me here in texas. unfortunately, those are both already skyrocketing to a higher price than i want to buy. sniff sniff.

yesterday, i swam, biked and walked... im a little sore today. but im training for a triathlon, and i have been a bump on a log for a while now. so i am starting my new regimen now. heres my plan:

bike to and from school. (10 miles a day.)
swimm in the morning before doinig anything else (1000 meters ish?)
walking/running more often... finding parking that is further fron school, walking to the coffee shop. whatever.

the swim and bike part i am not too freaked out over... the running? that's a whole different story....

i am trying to decide whether or not i am going to try and take another class ov er the summer... i have to get two classes that i fucked up in a while ago off of my record. or at least with a MUCH better grade. so i am thinking about taking a physics course to gt thatt out of the way this summer. i dont HAVE to take it, but by retaking the course, and a calculus that i fucked up in, my gpa would jump from a 3.5 to a 3.8. the problem with taking this course over the summer is that it is a 5.5 week course... that means htat a chapter is covered eah day, there is a alab every day, and there are tests every monday am i just being psychotic about a gpa? or am i making a good decision?

sorry i have been off line for so long, busy times, ya know.

so i finished my finals, and so far i have A's in all my classes! yipeeeeeeee

i have a two measly weeks of vacation until the terror (school) starts again. my mom is coming to town this saturday, and i am not sure if this is a good thing or not... but she is coming, and i have no say in it. actually, i think this is a good thing, i havent seen her in a while. she's coming to town because IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!

so for mother's day my niece gave me a few gifties and the sweetest damned card ever. basically saying that i have given her such an opportunity with havin gher move in with me. she made me cry... sniff sniff. the little bitch has a heart! (please read that with tons of sarcasm... it is a joke. she's not a bitch, most of the time anyway.)

i have finished with one half of the watermelong purse... it's a little deeper than i had hoped, but who knows what it will look like after being felted. keep uour fingers crossed!

the joanne's fabric store around the corner is going out of business, so my niece and i hit it yesterday. the yarn selection wsa PATHETIC, but the cross-stitch stuff was awesome! i got three new cross stitch patterns and the stuff to make a bar stool cover for my friend that is moving to chicago. just what i need, more projects.

god, what else is going on? um... im thinking of tearing up my floors soon, i found a couple of guys that are willing to help me for cheap cheap! usually hiring people for house remodeling or whatever is expensive shit, but they are charging $1.50 a sq. foot. (typical cost? $3-$4 a sq. foot.) they are redoing my fave local coffe shop's floors, so i get to see their work. i alreayd told them that i would wait until those floors are finished before i hired them. and i would only hire them if a contract was signed. teehee, i HATE carpeting, and LOVE hard wood floors!!

i had so much that i wanted to write, but i have totally forgotten... ok, i'll have to write later. damn, i hate when that happens.

we had our stitch and bitch last night, and it was as fun as ever! i only worked on the watermelon for a few minutes, as my arms are still in a bit of pain. this week has just wreaked havoc on me!

my friend's knitting is really progressing beautifully! she was working on a piece she lovingly calls the Muppet. check it out at her blog, she really is A Woman Obsessed! (Hey look! I figured out how to do links!!!... damn, i just might be able to do this computer thing!)

i am supposed to be working on a final, but i am at the local coffee shop, and left the papers at home. gee, damn, i guess that means i get to take the morning off!

tomorrow, my niece is working with one of my best friends as a makeup artist... i think she's going to have the time of her life. she's a little nervous since the people she will be making up are the same age as her, but they don't have to know that. she's going to be awesome! i hope that i get to see pictures. good luck, chiquita!
